Detachable Faceplate with Front Auxiliary Input
One little cable is all it takes to listen to your iPod, portable music player, or portable DVD player through your Sony Marine system (cable sold separately). No need to mess around with FM modulators to listen to your MP3 player in the car--the auxiliary input is built right into the face of the head unit, and even features an adjustable input level. All you need to do is plug and play.
The faceplate is also where you'll see the one-line white LCD display and switchable blue/red key illumination. You can tilt it from 0 to 45 degrees for easy viewing/use.
Play CDs and MP3/WMA FIles
Play back all your favorite CDs, along with CD-R/RW discs. Better yet, why not burn a CD-R/RW full of MP3 and WMA files, for hours of music on a single disc? Dial it all in with Sony's EQ3 three-band equalization to get just the sound you're after.
Selectable blue or red key illumination.
Add direct iPod control, HD Radio, or Satellite Radio with Sony adapters (XA-120IP for iPod pictured).
UV Resistant Coating
A UV Resistant front panel coating protects faceplate helps prevent discoloration from the sun, very important in marine applications.
Conformal Circuit Board Coating
The sun's not the only damaging element out there... A conformal coating on the circuit board helps protect the electronic assembly from damage due to contamination, salt spray, moisture, fungus, dust, and corrosion, all standard fare in the harsh marine environment.
52 Watts x 4 High Power
The Sony Marine CDX-M30 delivers 52 watts of peak power to all four speakers for full-range, bass-pumping sound.
Front, Rear, and Sub Preamp Outputs
If that 52 watts x 4 isn't sufficient, the CDX-M30 offers three 2V RCA preamp outputs (front, rear, and sub), so you can boost your boat's sound system with minimal effort and maximum flexibility. Use the preouts to add a subwoofer and external amplifiers, or another audio component.
Ready to Expand
The CDX-M30 gives you a great starting point, and the option to expand down the raod. HD Radio ready capability lets you receive digital audio broadcasts when used with an optional HD Radio tuner. You can do the same with satellite radio, using either XM or SIRIUS satellite radio UniLink adapters. Got an iPod you can't leave behind? The optional XA-120IP allows users to connect, charge, and control compatible iPod devices directly from the radio.
